During the Catena-X Beta Phase, the core services developed in the open-source project will be validated in an operational environment provided by the first Catena-X operating company (Cofinity-X). It is a test phase to test services, the onboarding, processes and applications and will be conducted with a limited number of customers/partners. The beta phases started beginning of May 2023 and goes until September 2023.

Of course. The EDC of sovity provides the data connection between your data source and Catena-X. Based on this data exchange additional apps for particular use cases can be used. To integrate the use case app and the EDC, sovity provides tools and support for an easy usage.

Key part of Data Spaces is connecting multiple partners to a large, federated ecosystem. To enable this scaling process, sovity provides an incentive which gives back credits to your subscription in case you bring further partners, customers or suppliers to the ecosystem.

The process of connecting and leveraging a use case differs based on the use case and requirements. We recommend having a short requirement session to identify the best and easiest way to connect to a use case (e.g. via the sovity API Wrapper, which allows decoupled connection of use case apps)

To get connected to Catena-X, the access to the Cofinity-X portal is required. If you do not have any access yet, sovity supports you. After this step, you receive a Business Partner Number (BPN) from the portal and we can register your EDC within Catena-X. Afterwards you are ready to exchange data in the ecosystem.

With the Connector-as-a-Service of sovity you receive tutorials, FAQs, walk through guides and additional information how the EDC works. To exchange data in Catena-X, you need to connect internal data sources to the EDC, define usage policies and contracts how these data can be consumed by other parties. Within the Connector-as-a-Service you are able to search and access different data sources from partners and use them for apps.

With the Connector you will consume data from other parties in Catena-X. Each time when receiving data from another party you "consume data". 

For one use case, multiple connections to parties can be established. Each time you connect to one other party to consume data this counts as a use case connection.
